Nelson Mandela Memorial Design Competition
About the Competition
The goal of the Nelson Mandela Memorial Design Competition is to elicit the most creative and exceptional designs for this significant public memorial project. We envision a memorial that will support the education and inspiration of our youth, initiating the kind of dialogue and activism that will ensure Nelson Mandela’s legacy continues to drive positive change.
The design competition opens on April 15 and closes on October 15, 2014. All interested residents of the United States over the age of 13 years are eligible to enter. Complete design guidelines, specifications and instructions for submitting entries are published on this website. Questions will be accepted on the Q&A section of the website during the dedicated question period of April 15 to September 15. Answers to all questions will be posted on the website for reference until the close of submissions on October 15, 2014.
All design concepts entered into the competition will be reviewed and scored by a distinguished judging panel. The Nelson Mandela Foundation will select the winning design.
